Are Public Holidays available to book?
Some dates are not available. Please contact us to discuss bookings on a public holiday.
Does Goulburn River Lodge have a curfew?
Yes we do have a noise curfew of 11:00pm.
Do we need a planner or coordinator for event management?
An event coordinator or a planner is highly recommended.
The team at Goulburn River Lodge will make every effort to support your day however we do not take on the role of a wedding
planner of event coordinator.
What time of day can my wedding be held?
Weekend weddings the venue is available from 2pm on Friday & checkout Sunday 12pm
Single day weddings the venue is available from 2pm & checkout at 12pm the following day
Elopement beginning at 12pm with everyone exiting the property by 6pm.
Ceremony only beginning at 10am, with everyone exiting the property by 1pm.
Do we have exclusive use of the venue?
Yes, the beautiful grounds are yours to enjoy for the duration of your event or stay.
Are fires allowed onsite?
Yes, we do allow fires in firepits provided. It is the responsibility of hiring party to ensure fires are burning safely and
distinguished properly
Are kids allowed on site?
Yes, guests of all ages are welcome to be part of the celebrations. Our grounds are surrounded by ponds and waterways so
children should be supervised by an adult at all times.
Does Goulburn River Lodge allow dogs?
Yes! We love dogs, as long as they’re on a lead.
Do I have the freedom to organise any vendor I want?
Yes, we are a self-catered venue. All vendors require public liability ensure and a licence to serve alcohol.
Do you allow external caterers?
The Goulburn River Lodge is a self-catered venue, meaning all catering is organised by yourself.
This gives you the freedom to choose a menu option that bests suit your theme and budget.
We have a list of highly recommended caterers to pass onto our couples should you request this.
A self-serve tea & coffee station is also provided by The Goulburn River Lodge.
Can we BYO drinks for our wedding?
Yes! You provide your own drinks; you just have to have staff hired with RSA’s serving them.
Do you provide a celebrant for the day?
Selecting a celebrant is an incredibly personal choice. You are the best person to make this choice. That is why a celebrant isn’t provided by The Goulburn River Lodge. However we have a list of celebrants we highly recommend.
Is there a wet weather ceremony option?
Yes, the Lodge itself is a beautiful rustic space to hold your ceremony. Including the mezzanine level the Lodge can accommodate 100 guests.
Do we have to hire toilets?
There is a toilet connected to The Lodge available for use for all bookings. We also include 3 x Paddock Dreams Whitehaven Toilets.
For Single Night and Weekend weddings we provide additional facilities with Portaloo’s.
Is power provided or do we have to hire generator?
Power is provided
Do you allow buses/coaches on site?
Yes. There is amble parking at The Goulburn River Lodge. This is a great option for those guests wanting to travel up just for the event. However we do recommend staying in the area and enjoying what this part of the world has to offer.
Is there additional accommodation close by?
There is ample accommodation for your guests to stay the night with the caravan park next door and the Rubicon Hotel a 3-minute walk. Shuttle buses are available to hire if you would rather your guests get driven rather than stroll.
Do we have to do the clean-up post wedding?
Yes you are required to leave the place clean and tidy post wedding. The best way to make sure there’s not lots of mess for you to clean up is to talk to your caterer/staff serving drinks and organise for them to clean up everything until their departure.
Does venue hire include accommodation?
For one and two night weddings, accommodation is included with 3 x 2 bedroom self contained accommodation offerings, suitable to sleep 12 in total.
Can guests bring their own tents/caravans?
No we don't allow this. There is camping in the caravan park next door.
Are guests allowed to leave cars in carpark overnight?
Yes cars are allowed to stay in carpark overnight however must be picked up by the following day latest 11am.
Does Goulburn River Lodge help with the planning side of things?
We are more than happy to answer any questions you have and send you in the right direction when we can. We do not help out with booking suppliers or giving advice on florals etc though.
How do we secure a date for our wedding?
To secure a date we require 25% deposit.
How do we pay?
You can pay by direct deposit.
What are the cancellation or rescheduling policies?
With weddings being booked so far in advance it is often impossible to fill a date within 12 months. In the event of cancellation Goulburn River Lodge will not refund any amount paid to date. A reschedule request within 12 months of your booking will attract a $2000 fee. No reschedule fees are applicable with more than 12 months notice.
